On December 26th, the ICSE-PR Executive Director was interviewed in ABC PR in regards the status of power restoration and the transformation of the Puerto Rico electrical system three months after the passing of Hurricane María.


 

October 31st, 2017 Delivery of Solar Equipment.


On October 31st, the ICSE-PR, celebrated the delivery of 3,000 solar lanterns and electronic charger equipment. Our Thanks to El Puente – Enlace Latino, the Sierra Club, the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) and other donors of the Continental United States for their support to recover and rebuild a Puerto Rico of clean and accessible energy, with an electrical system Resilient with low and competitive energy prices. The donations were done to SER de Puerto Rico, Instituto Psicopedagógico de Puerto Rico, Proyecto Enlace del Caño Martin Peña, Centro para Puerto Rico, Centros Sor Isolina Ferrer, Caras de las Américas and Proyecto PECES.

June 26-28, 2017 Puerto Rico Energy Comission.

On the Aguirre Site Economic Analysis proceeding, we attested for further research and analysis on the viability of the proposed Aguirre Offshore Gas Port to import Liquefied Natural Gas to the Aguirre Power Plant. PREPA should analyze alternative methods of bringing Natural Gas before committing to a long term investment.


 

June 1-3, 2017 Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association 2017 Convention.

ICSE-PR mediated a discussion panel on Puerto Rico’s Electrical System restructuring with participation from: Ricardo Ramos, PREPA Executive Director; Jose Román, Interim President of Puerto Rico Energy Commission; Josen Rossi, Chairman of ICSE-PR; Francisco Rullán, Executive Director of State Office of Energy Public Policy; and Pedro Nievez, former chairman of Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board.

Our Director attended the Center for Research in Regulated Industries (CRRI) annual conference at Annapolis to present Puerto Rico’s Electrical System state and its cost to the current economic crisis.

“El Mega Viernes Civil” spanish for Mega Civil Fridy is a Civil Engineering marathon presented by College of Engineers and Surveyor of Puerto Rico. Our director lead a track on energy discussing the condition of Puerto Rico’s generation fleet and efficient alternatives for it redevelopment..
